I have used this new compact cordless drill a few times and it appears to be a well made and designed tool. I like the fact that it IS compact and has good torque. The chuck locks tools very well and tight. Unlike in older Makitas, the head does not free spin as you tighten the toll. The batteries charge very quickly and are quite compact- BIG improvement. The case is well designed on the inside as it provides room for the extra bits, drills, etc. inside the case.

There is only one negative I found: the LED bulb points the light just bellow the spot where one actually need the light such as when drilling a small hole, the light is pointed just bellow the drill bit. I have to see if there is some adjustment for it. Overall it IS a Very Good Tool, amazingly powerful for it’s size.
