Absolutely Love It
I had been looking at ereaders for quite a while and knew that I wanted one, but just didn’t know for sure which one. Finally the Sony won out and I have been thrilled ever since. It is really easy to use and I now find myself reading for enjoyment again. I didn’t really even know how much I missed reading in the evenings. Even if you don’t want to buy books, there are lots of libraries that you can check out ebooks to read. Not to mention, the Sony e store always has some free books that get changed periodically. I really look forward to see where Sony goes with their readers.

I love the sony reader pocket. Really haven’t put it down since I purchased it. I spent a lot of time researching this against the other e-readers out there and I made the right choice. Comparing this and the kindle is apples and oranges for me, different feature sets, prices, and sizes. Like buying an RV when you live in the city. The size is really the best aspect of it by far. You can hold it in one hand while reading and it is very portable. Excellent sturdy build quality.

I purchased the bundle that comes with the leather cover and AC charger. This really helps when you want to use two hands to hold it. It protects the reader very well and makes it look like you are reading a journal so it doesn’t attract any attention at all which I like very much. Just to reiterate some other reviews, this e-reader is what it is, and it does it well.

As far as the flash when turning pages, this is necessary for an e-ink screen to prevent ghosting on the screen. It in no way is distracting after a few pages of reading. The screen has excellent contrast in all types of lighting especially dim, and I have no problem with screen size and I read on the small font size. And lets please not write any more reviews about the lack of backlighting, which would cut back on the battery life, which is excellent. Mine has gone down one bar in two weeks which amazes me.

Navigating through menus isn’t lighting fast but the only time Im navigating at all is when Im selecting a new book to read. I do not even turn the reader off, it just goes to sleep after sixty minutes and if you want to start reading again pick it up and slide the power button on top and you are on the page where you left off. This is all i ever do it couldn’t be easier. I use mine with a Mac and have had no problems at all.

There is a full user manual online for those who cant handle the start up guide in the box. The sony library to buy new books is growing and has some books I thought they wouldn’t have and some they should but dont. Hope this helps in making your decision on purchasing an excellent product for hardcore readers.
